If the sound of rides, a photo with Santa, an animal farm and fairy floss have your children jumping up and down with excitement, then you won’t want to miss the Salvation Army North Brisbane’s annual Christmas party.
The free community event kicks off at 4pm on Sunday 8 December, featuring a raft of activities, entertainment and carols for families keen to get into the Christmas spirit early.
Event organiser from the Salvation Army North Brisbane Church, Karyn Woodford, said the Community Christmas Celebration, was a great family event with loads of free activities and a variety of food options to purchase.
“We’ve got free rides, free Santa photos, a free animal farm, free photo booth, free fairy floss, free cupcake decorating and so much more,” Karyn said. “We’ll put on a sausage sizzle, there’ll be hamburgers, hot chips, curry in a cup, a coffee van, cakes, milkshakes and a lolly stall.”
Karyn encouraged partygoers to bring a blanket or chair for the popular carols on the lawn that start at 7.15pm. The carols will be led by the Salvation Army’s worship team leader, Shelden Mathieson, and a group of singers from the church.
