The weather is warming up and the entertainment in Sandgate is following suit. There’s plenty of events to keep you entertained around town this month, while you get ready for the new year to roll around again.
If you want to shop-along to some local tunes, Franco Pre-loved Clothing & Makers Market is back with the Summer edition markets! Come down to Franco’s to find pre-loved pieces, coffee, food, live music and artisan-made talent at the Sandgate Scout Hall from 8am–12pm on Saturday 7 December. Follow on Instagram @francomarkets.
For something even more low-key, Mr Henderson presents The Midnight Swim on 7 December. This Brisbane-based duo blends the genres of Jazz, Pop, Funk, Soul, and Blues to create a chilled and relaxing vibe that will be sure to help you unwind during this busy time of the year.
Member of The Midnight Swim, Ash Horth, said the duo loves the community vibe and local feel of playing at Mr Henderson.
“We love how Mr Henderson gets behind local music, especially younger musicians. We love the crowd at the bar too, and we’re starting to get to know the familiar faces,’ Ash said.
While they’ve played here before, this will be Midnight Swim’s first solo performance at the bar.
“We’re looking forward to showing off a full set of favourites with our take on some old and new tracks. Expect electric vocals and some classic shredding on guitar!” Ash said.

Later in the month, you can dust off those dancing shoes again and sing-along to some of your favourite songs from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Just make sure you’re ready for a night of rock and roll and then head to Brighton Bowls Club where The Mulhoons will take to the stage on 27 December. Finally, the Full Moon Hotel will host the unofficial Christmas After Party for Jingle All The Bay, featuring Will Day live on stage from 8pm on Friday, 6 December.
