If your kids love being outside and you would like to keep them active these school holidays, check out AFL Queensland’s holiday camps.
Two full-day camps will be held at O’Callaghan Park, Zillmere, for both boys and girls aged 5 to 13 years and no previous AFL experience is necessary.
During the day camps, the children will have the opportunity to learn and test their football skills with fun games and activities conducted by AFL Queensland staff and coaches.
Throughout the day they will also enjoy AFL inflatable activities and a visit from Brisbane Lions team mascot, Roy the Lion.
Brisbane Lions’ zone manager, Bill Renner, encouraged all children to try out AFL.
“It’s social, it’s inclusive, it’s non-contact (at this age) and it gives boys and girls the opportunity to be active, develop skills and learn sport in a caring environment,’’ Bill said.
The holiday camps are being held on Wednesday 3 July and Thursday 4 July from 9am to 3pm.The cost is $125 for the day and includes an AFL goodie bag with football, lunch, drinks and snacks. For more information or to book your child’s spot, contact Dianne at firstname.lastname@example.org, phone 0429 384 376 or visit aflq.com.au/shc.
