Sandcliffe Writers Festival
It’s not every day you get to connect with your favourite authors, but that’s exactly what’s on offer as part of the Sandcliffe Writers Festival (SWF). This year SWF  features an expanded festival program at venues around the 4017 from 24-26 August.

Event Manager Melissa Honey said the festival, supported by Brisbane City Council, and under the auspice of the Society of Women’s Writers Qld, would showcase Indigenous and Non-Indigenous writers.

“The festival has several aims, which includes promoting community literacy and the craft of writing and storytelling,” Ms Honey said.

“Our festival program features workshops and discussions targeted at both readers and writers across a broad-spectrum of community sectors, including youth, artists and culturally diverse communities.”

Ms Honey said one of the program highlights this year was the expanded youth literacy program.

“We have several events aimed at children and young adults, as well as, families, educators, mentors, and aspiring Young Adult (YA) writers or #LoveOzYA fans.
