This year’s Bracken Ridge Backyard Bonanza is packed with entertainment, activities, food and fun for the whole family and it’s more environmentally sustainable than ever before.
Join the festivities on Sunday, May 27 from 9am at McPherson Park where local band Aussie Aussie Aussie headlines the event performing classic Aussie rock, pop and acoustic, and new MCs The Nick and Tom Show from Nova entertain the crowds.
With more performers and community groups than ever before, Backyard Bonanza captures the true spirit of community, and as a waste wise event, all vendors are being encouraged to only supply bio-degradable food packaging and balloons and single-use plastics are banned.
Councillor Amanda Cooper (Bracken Ridge Ward) said, “The Backyard Bonanza is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and experience a relaxing, fun-filled family day.
“It focuses on our local community and is an opportunity to enjoy live entertainment, community stalls and ride on the Lion’s Steam Trains.
“ There is a great range of activities for the whole family to enjoy, including a live stage show from Despicable Me 3, performance by local band Aussie Aussie Aussie, a youth tent run by past students of Aspley State High School, skateboarding and steam train rides.
“I invite everyone who has not already put this date in their diary, to come down to McPherson Park and enjoy a beautiful day.
“Now in its 12th year, this free event for families is an opportunity to enjoy some great free, fun activities and support local community groups and sample some amazing food — the Bracken Ridge Scouts delicious scones or damper is always a highlight for me.”
Sunday, May 27 from 9am-1.30pm in McPherson Park, 146 Denham Street, Bracken Ridge.
