Calling all mums — it’s time to get dolled up for a good cause this month at the Mother’s Day High Tea fundraiser at Sandgate Town Hall.
And with the proceeds of the event going towards Friends with Dignity, a charity supporting those affected by domestic violence, those dainty delicacies will taste a whole lot sweeter.
Event organiser and owner of Sandgate’s Chew Chew Train personal training Maddie Burrows says the event is an opportunity for mums to come together for an enjoyable afternoon while supporting a deserving charity.
“A large percentage of my client base is mothers, and I wanted to arrange something for them while using the opportunity to raise funds for a charity,” she says.
“The event is an opportunity for mums to come together and enjoy a nice child-free afternoon out to get dressed up, chat, make new friends and generally unwind.”
The event, starting at 12.30pm, will feature guest speakers, live music, a raffle and silent auction with prizes donated from local businesses including artworks, coaching courses, fashion accessories and pampering vouchers.
