Easter School Holiday Fun
Happy Easter! More importantly, happy holidays!!  It’s time for a well-earned break for students and many parents too. In the Sandgate area there are lots of things to keep your crew busy over the break — here’s just a few ideas to consider as you plan your Easter calendar!

Woodcraft Fun

Sandbag Community Centre will be presenting a Woodcraft Fun session for 6-14-year-olds at the Bracken Ridge Library Hall on 12th April. In this class kids can learn basic woodworking skills from trained facilitators, and every child gets to take home their creation! Limited places are available so contact Daniel on 3869 3244 or ddesnousse@sandbag.org.au to book.

Sandgate Foreshore

For some free fun, try taking the kids for a bike ride along the beautiful Sandgate foreshore. The easy six-kilometre track goes from Brighton to Shorncliffe and passes Arthur Davis Park at Sandgate which has some of the best climbing trees for kids around Brisbane. There are plenty of fish and chips shops along the way, as well as the iconic Shorncliffe Pier.

Sandgate PCYC

Sandgate PCYC has a great selection of fun activities these school holidays, including a Recreational Sports Activity Camp. The centre will also be offering activities including gymnastics, art and crafts, cooking and team games, so don’t let your kids get bored, send them down to the PCYC for some holiday fun! Check out www.facebook.com/sandgatepcyc or call 3269 5358 to find out more.

Pelican Park Easter Fair

Pelican Park, Clontarf will be host to an Easter Fair from Friday 30 March to Saturday 7 April.  Fun for the whole family with show rides, games, market and food stalls. Fair is open from 12pm over the Easter long weekend, and from 6pm the following week.

Sandgate Library

Sandgate Library will be offering various activities for kids over the school holidays. Book your 5-12-year-olds in for some craft activities at Maker Space on the 7th April, or create a diorama while exploring the hilarity of the much loved Sporty Kids books on 5th April (6-10-year-olds). Call 3667 6022 to book.

Building Block Studio

Sandgate tech school Building Block Studio has a host of fun and educational activities for kids aged from just six years old. There are many classes, in particular, Video Editing With Special Effect. They can learn to make a great LEGO stop-motion movie, with special software will help bring your child’s movie to life. Different activities and workshops on daily, check out www.buildingblockstudio.com or call 3869 0885 to learn more!
