Jingle All The Way To Bracken Ridge Christmas Carols

Jingle all the way to Bracken Ridge Christmas Carols
More than 4000 people will converge on Norris Road State School this December 10 for the annual community Bracken Ridge Christmas Carols, where visitors can eat, drink and be merry.

Now approaching its 20th year, the event promises to be bigger and better than ever, with this year’s event boasting market stalls, food trucks, Christmas carols and an even better spectacular fireworks display.

Market co-ordinator Rachel Rees says the day will include many highlights, with the main attraction being the choir performance with their largest number of members on record.

“The choir segment is gearing up to be huge this year and even though practices are just starting, you can’t help but feel that this year is going to be something special,” she says.

“We are really hoping our community will come and sing along with this amazing group, the way we all used to when we were kids.

“Even though we still have amazing dance and visual performances at the event, our real focus is that community feel that embodies 4017.

“The sing-along carols are one of the few times every year you can be sure everybody is gathered together, which is what makes 4017 the best place to live and raise a family.

“We want to embrace that this year.”  There is something for everyone this year, including market stalls, carnival rides, art and crafts, sweet shops and more.

“We have a great variety of food trucks to suit everyone’s needs, and the coffee is good enough for even the most extreme coffee snob,” Rachel jests.

“Every year is fantastic and has a real community feel to it — last year, we even had a couple get engaged live on the big screen.

“It’s wonderful to see little children over the years growing up and having different roles in the production, there is something for everyone who wants to be involved.

“Families come to the event because it is a Christmas tradition akin to opening presents on Christmas morning or a long lazy lunch with an endless bowl of fresh prawns. We are so pumped to be doing something that adds value to the family lives of people in our community.”
