Woods Coffee House has opened in the former Wild Manna Café site, and owners Paul and Haidee Woods say they share a love of cooking and coffee, and a dream of opening a café.
“We felt strongly about excellent food and service, so we decided to take over Wild Manna Cafe as we wanted to continue the great work they were doing,” Haidee says.
“Interacting with people is so important to us - we believe that to be successful in the hospitality industry, we have to know our customers and make them feel that we care.”
Haidee says Woods Coffee House offers a cozy and relaxed atmosphere, great coffee and freshly prepared delicious meals, all served with a smile.
“Our customers leave the café feeling satisfied and happy with the experience we offer them,” she says.
“ We’ve had such wonderful feedback and a lot of praise for our meals and coffee.”
The owners opened the café in September after recently arriving back in Australia after many years abroad.
“After living in Thailand for more than 30 years between us, we decided to move to Australia for a new life,” Haidee says.
“We love Queensland’s weather and people, but in particular we fell in love with the tranquillity of the Bayside and its welcoming local community.
“We created an arty, cozy atmosphere that’s kid-friendly and great place for families to come, eat and relax.
“It’s a great place to just sit and enjoy a cup of coffee with friends, and our cakes and slices are freshly baked in-house.”
The pair say that with a growing clientele they will aim to extend the café’s opening hours and offerings. “We do have big plans,” Haidee says. “We’d like to open more days such as on Sunday mornings, and possibly Friday or Saturday nights.”
