Brighton Health Campus turns 70, celebrates health and history at second annual Healthy Ageing Expo during Seniors week.

Featuring everything from Tai Chi to Men’s Shed demonstrations, the Expo will be held from 9am-2pm and start with a walking group. A sea of stalls offering Health information, screening and testing activities will overtake the Brighton Auditorium.

Coinciding with the Campus’ 70th Anniversary, there will also be historical displays and entertainment commemorating the milestone, along with a story-telling session where members of the community can share stories and memories of Brighton Health Campus.

Community, Indigenous and Subacute Services Executive Director Chris Seiboth urges the community to join in what he says is sure to be a fun, informative and interactive day.

“The Brighton Healthy Ageing Expo is about all about enhancing the quality of life for older people, their families and carers while ensuring that as a service we are investing in sustainable healthcare,” he said.

“We know our ageing population is growing and people are living longer, and we are rising to this challenge by supporting our community to lead active and healthy lives as they age, providing them opportunities to become well-informed about how best to keep moving and be their best selves.”

CISS Community and Strategic Relations Manager Danielle Grant-Cross says the Expo is a great opportunity for residents to connect with service providers and community organisations in a relaxed, social environment.

“Brighton Health Campus has played a vital role in the local area since 1946. We invite as many people as possible to come down to the Expo to see first-hand how we are continuing our long tradition of serving the diverse needs of our local community.”

Up to 30 exhibitors will include Burnie Brae, BallyCara, Carers Australia, Sandbag, Australian Hearing, Sandgate Police, St John Ambulance, Centrelink, Breast Screen, Continence Foundation and various Metro North Hospital and Health Service health teams.
