Ruby Purple is a local abstract artist & wearable art creator who’s a live wire! Her upcoming exhibition ‘Abstracted Connections’ is designed to answer
what abstract art represents and how she as an artist comes to her result.
‘Abstracted Connections’ is a reveal of Ruby’s conceptual process and aims to bring awareness to the ‘Preservation of our Environment.’ Ruby has designed and created artworks in progressive phases to allow the audience an insight into her technique of extracting the underlying essence of what is seen and presented as an abstract impression.
Primarily a self-taught artist with studies in Graphic Design and Interior Decorating, Ruby has featured in various publications and exhibits, locally, nationally and internationally. She was a finalist in the Lethbridge 10000, Rotary Art Spectacular, Contemporary Art Awards and the Brisbane Art Prize along with selection as one of the Top 60 Masters of Contemporary Art held in France!
Ruby extends her creativity by offering wearable art, where she designs bespoke pieces and Vegan-friendly scarves made of fabrics displaying her transposed artworks.
Another of Ruby’s passions is to give as much of her time to community projects. She has a number of exhibitions and public art demonstrations planned into 2018, from painting in West End with team ‘Damiru’ to exhibiting in the ‘Ars Moriendi’ (the art of dying) exhibition in the heritage listed West Chapel. She will also have an exhibition in the Biennale of Australian Art in Victoria 2018!
Ruby would like to thank all the local businesses of Sandgate for their ongoing support to the arts & artists, in particular, the Sandgate Guide & Bramble Place!
Ruby’s artwork is on display at Bramble Place Tea and Coffee, Sandgate from 1 August – 30 September 2017.
