Council has recently installed three large wayfinding signs in Sandgate to help visitors and tourists find their way around.
These signs are located near the Sandgate Train Station, Brighton Road and Flinders Parade (near Lovers Walk). These two sided signs show local amenities and attractions that are within a 10 and 20-minute walk of the sign’s location. These signs are in four different languages including Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Arabic along with English.
Local Councillor Jared Cassidy said these signs would be great for visitors finding their way around the Sandgate Village area.
“Visitor-friendly cities and towns right across Australia have wayfinding signage like this, and it’s great we are finally catching up here in Brisbane’s suburban shopping areas.
“Sandgate being just a short 30-minute train ride from the city is perfectly placed to attract day visitors and tourists. We have fantastic public spaces like the Einbunpin Lagoon Park, the foreshore and many unique shops and cafés,” Jared said.
“Along with the recently refurbished SCIP projects and fast, free Wi-Fi, there are more reasons than ever to spend a bit of time in Sandgate.”
