The fiercely powerful and emotive sounds of Beethoven’s opera, Fidelio, will fill the air of the Sandgate Town Hall during this special one-off Eternal Beethoven concert.
Hosted by 35-piece orchestra ensemble, the Cadenza Chamber Players, the Sunday afternoon of classical music and opera will offer a musical feast of Ludwig Van Beethoven’s original masterpieces.
The Cadenza Chamber Players will be joined by well-known Canadian soprano, Rachel Pines, who has toured internationally in concert with The Seven Sopranos and who appeared as a soloist with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and the Brisbane City Opera, among others.
The Cadenza Chamber Players’ conductor, Lucas D. Lynch, said the event would serve as Queensland’s farewell to Ms Pines before she heads off overseas.
Mr Lynch said Ms Pines had a remarkable voice and would be singing a few pieces with the orchestra, including the concert aria, ‘Ah! Perfido’ and ‘O Wär’ Ich Schon Mit Dir Vereint’ from Beethoven’s opera, Fidelio.
The concert will feature the Fidelio Overture and conclude with the famous Fifth Symphony Op. 67.
Eternal Beethoven is on Sunday, 22 September from 2pm – 5pm at the Sandgate Town Hall. Tickets range from $35.50 - $37.50 and can be purchased from the Cadenza Chamber Players’ website.
